For someone that has been hitting the gym for over 8 year now I have performed and witnessed the utmost awkward moments in the gym. For a place that can make you look and feel good it can also be a place for cringe-worthy moments which we have all experienced - I have for sure.
I have walked out being horrified with what I have witnessed and never to return again but it happens to all of us, so dont back out of trying to achieve your goals.
- Leaving your beautiful sweaty bum marks on the mat.
- Discovering you have a hole in your leggings after you've just done squats.
- Realising you have put on your unsquat proof leggings on leg day.
- Grunting... do I have to say any more.
- Checking yourself out in the mirror for far to long, to the point someone is looking at you.
- Farting while in a yoga class
- Side stepping in the wrong direction in Zumba causing you to bump in to the person next to you
- Catching someones eye when taking that 10/10 selfie.
- Forgetting to shave your pits in the morning. Leg day it is.
- Nudity in the changing rooms, eyes down I dont want to catch anyones eye.
- Sweat patches in places you dont want sweat patches.
- Clothing malfunctions, can I run away now.
- Trying to out run the person next to you on the treadmill.
- Falling over a piece of equipment and spraining your ankle in front of everyone.
- Turning up to a fitness class for the first time and failing terribly at it.
- The gym hottie catching you checking them out. Look away, look away.
- Walking in to your crush after the gym looking like a sweaty mess.
- Siting in someones pool of sweat. Wipe the equipment down people!
- Catching someones eye when in an awkward pose or squat. The most awkward moment avoid person at all times.
- Accidentally spilling water all down you. I'm just a bit weak in the arms from carrying the weights.
- Spending hours trying to untangle your headphones.
- Getting hit on by a guy that think he knows everything about the gym.
- Pretending to be on your phone as you subtly wait for that guy to leave the machine you need.
- Using the the weights machine wrong. Just being creative.
- Trying out a new exercise from an Insta #fitspo post…but it’s complicated AF and you gotta commit because you’ve accidentally racked up an audience.
