So what happens when you get a new toy you use it obliviously. It has a sharp optical quality, and when shooting at f/1.8, it offers a very shallow depth of field which is beneficial for isolating subjects against a blurred background. That is one of my favourite effects with photography. This lens has earned the nicknames 'nifty fifty' and 'plastic fantastic', It really is a 'nifty fifty' I can see my self just gravitating towards using this lens more as I can just pick it up and create a beautiful image with just a click of a button.
Here are some of my favourite images below taken with this lens.
1. Boats
2. Breakfast
3. Car
4. Self Portrait
5. NZ Plant.

Nice! I had the nifty fifty for a few years and have just upgraded to the 1.4 - LOVE them both so much!
ReplyDeleteI know right I have loved the new lens although it has taken me a bit of time to get use to it. What's the 1.4 like?
